Frequently asked questions
Is Gaia a soft or firm modular sofa?
Gaia is one of our softest modular sofas, offering the same plush, cloud-like seating as Ciello. Both share the same cushion construction and supportive D35 foam, including the additional foam layer above the base. Gaia pairs that wonderful sink-in feeling with a taller backrest and higher back cushions for extra comfort when leaning back.
Does Gaia offer good back support?
Yes! Gaia features a taller backrest and higher back cushions than Ciello, providing more support when leaning back. Its overall sofa height is approximately 39 inches, creating a comfortable place to rest your back and shoulders. It's an excellent choice if you love the softness of a cloud sofa but also enjoy taller, more supportive seating.
What's the difference between Gaia Regular and Gaia XL?
Gaia XL gives you approximately 3 inches more usable seat width and 1.4 inches more seat depth than Regular. In a comparable three-seater configuration, XL also adds approximately 7 inches to the overall width. Both share the same plush cushions, supportive base, and tall backrest design. Choose XL for more room to stretch out or Regular for a more compact setup.
Is Gaia comfortable for everyday sitting and lounging?
Absolutely! Gaia's generously filled cushions make it easy to settle in, while its taller backrest provides comfortable support when sitting back. Its seat height is approximately 21 inches, and its plush seat construction combines soft synthetic fibres with a supportive high-density foam core. It's a lovely balance of cloud-like softness and back support for everyday relaxing.
What's the difference between Gaia and Ciello?
Both use the same cushion construction and foam, giving them very similar seating softness. Gaia stands out with a taller backrest, higher back cushions, slimmer arms, and elegant French seams. Ciello offers Original and High Angled backrest options, with High Angled creating a more reclined position. Your choice comes down to the style and back support you prefer.
Is Gaia a modular sofa with removable, washable covers?
Yes! Gaia's removable, machine-washable upholstery includes the seat cushions, back cushions, upholstered arms, and base. This makes cleaning everyday messes much easier. Compatible replacement covers also let you update your sofa's colour or refresh its look without replacing the entire sofa.
Does Gaia have an ottoman with hidden storage?
Yes! Gaia's storage ottoman measures 80 × 80 × 54 cm, with a 68 × 68 × 19.3 cm hidden storage space inside, perfect for keeping blankets, pillows, and other living-room essentials close by. It also creates an inviting spot to put your feet up, making it a great addition to any Gaia modular sectional.
Can I expand my Gaia modular sofa over time?
Absolutely! Gaia's modular design lets you start with a smaller sofa and add compatible seats or corners to create a larger sectional. You can also use an ottoman for a chaise-like lounging arrangement. With removable covers and flexible configurations, Gaia is designed to evolve with your home.
