Quick delivery and easy returns are terms you can verify before checkout: the furniture delivery time to your address, the delivery type, when the free trial starts, and what a return costs. Cozey ships free to all 10 provinces with no minimum, starts its 30-day free trial when the order arrives, and accepts free returns in the original boxes.
Each check below is something you can confirm on a retailer's furniture return policy and shipping pages before you pay. Cozey's own terms follow each one, so you can compare like for like.
Start with the trial and the return terms
1. Confirm when the trial clock starts
A trial that starts at checkout or at shipping loses days while the order is in transit. Look for one that counts from the day the furniture arrives, and note what it asks you to keep. Cozey's 30-day free trial starts the day you receive your order, and it requires you to keep the original boxes.
2. Find out who pays to send it back
A furniture free trial is only as easy as its return cost. Check whether returns are free, what condition the item has to be in, and what happens if the packaging is gone. Returns to Cozey are free during the 30-day trial when items go back in their original packaging. If a return is started without the original packaging, or the product comes back with significant damage, Cozey may charge a return fee of 15% of the order value or decline the return.
3. Check how a return starts and when the refund lands
A return you can begin yourself moves faster than one that waits on an email reply. Cozey returns and exchanges start from the self-service portal in your Cozey account, or through Cozey's contact form with your order number. If something specific went wrong, an exchange for a different size or model may be offered instead. Once the item is back, Cozey's Quality Assurance Team inspects it for customer-caused damage or modifications, and the refund is processed within 3 to 7 business days after that.
Furniture delivery time: ship date versus arrival date
4. Check the delivery cost and any minimum
Free shipping furniture offers sometimes come with an order minimum or exclude large items, so read the shipping page for both. Cozey offers free standard shipping to all 10 provinces with no minimum purchase. In rare cases, addresses in remote areas with limited carrier access may incur extra fees.
5. Separate ship time from arrival time
Fast shipping furniture claims usually describe one of two clocks: how long an order takes to leave the warehouse, or how long the carrier takes once it has left. Find out which one a retailer means, and where it shows an estimate for your own address. Cozey shipping times vary with stock, and delivery typically follows within a few days once an order ships. Cozey shows a location-specific estimate below the Add to Cart button and again in your account after you order. The carrier gives a more precise date once the order is fulfilled.
How the boxes get from the door to the room
6. Pick the delivery type before you pay
Online furniture usually arrives in one of two formats. Boxed courier delivery leaves cartons at your door for you to carry in and assemble. In-home delivery with assembly brings the piece inside, sets it up and takes the packaging away.
Cozey offers three tiers:
- Standard free shipping leaves boxes at the front door or building lobby on weekdays, and you don't need to be home.
- Scheduled Delivery brings boxes to your unit on a date you choose, for a small additional fee. It's available for select products in eligible areas.
- White Glove Delivery includes in-home delivery, assembly of eligible items and box removal.
The options shown at checkout depend on your postal code. White glove delivery has to be chosen at checkout because it can't be added afterwards.
7. Plan for a condo or apartment building
With standard delivery, Cozey's couriers leave boxes in a safe spot at your building's entrance or lobby. If they can't, they reattempt the next business day. They don't bring boxes to unit doors. Check the size and weight of every box under the Dimensions button on the product page before delivery day. For measuring the route from the entrance to the room, see Modular furniture online: how to choose for small and open spaces.
Assembly, and what covers you after day 30
8. Check the tools and the instructions
Tools and setup vary between products, so read the guide before the boxes arrive rather than after. Cozey publishes step-by-step instructions on its assembly guides page. Cozey seating, including the Ciello, Gaia and Neptune collections, assembles without tools. With White Glove Delivery, the carrier assembles most Cozey products, except wall-mounted pieces such as the Themis and Altitude shelving systems.
9. Read what the warranty actually replaces
What a warranty replaces matters as much as how long it lasts. Cozey products carry a 5-year limited warranty that covers defective parts not caused by consumer damage or modifications. Cozey sends the defective part rather than exchanging the whole module, and you don't need to ship the damaged part back. Accidental damage to seating, such as rips, tears and set-in stains, is covered separately by CozeyProtection+, an optional 3-year plan.
The checks buyers skip most
Three details are easy to miss because they sit outside the headline trial length.
The first is how White Glove Delivery interacts with returns. Box removal is part of the service, so if you later decide to return a piece, you no longer have the original packaging. Contact Cozey about replacement boxes before you start the return, since a return without the original packaging can carry the 15% fee.
The second is timing. White Glove Delivery can't be added once an order is placed, so decide before checkout rather than after the shipping confirmation arrives.
The third is treating the product page estimate as a promise. Shipping times depend on stock, so plan around the carrier's date once the order ships. If you're furnishing a whole room in one order, Living room furniture: a buyer's guide covers planning seating, rugs and storage together.
